Frequently Asked Questions
- I'm a beginner, which patterns should I buy?
- We have collected all the patterns that are suitable for beginners and put them in a special category called "For Beginners". You will find it in the Pantographs drop-down menu above.
Your pattern choices will depend on your confidence level, which machine you have, what skills you want to work on, what your customers like and how much you want to spend but the beginners section will get you started. Be sure to check that the patterns will fit in your machine's throat space.
If you get stuck or need help you can call us on (03) 9754 4916 and we will talk you through selecting your patterns. We use these patterns in our own quilting business so we've been there. - What does "Size of one row" mean?
- The measurements describe the height of one row of the pattern at its widest point. They do not include the space to the next row. In short, that measurement in the minimum amount of sewing space you need to be able to stitch the pattern. Sometimes there are multiple rows on a roll, in which case you may be able to stitch multiple rows before advancing the quilt, providing your machine has the extra throat space.
- What does "for both rows" mean?
- You will only see this term used on patterns where each row is different or the second row is offset and you need to stitch both rows before advancing the quilt. Where you see a measurement followed by "for both rows" it means that measurement is the minimum amount of sewing space you need to be able to stitch both rows of the pattern. We strongly recommend that you don't buy patterns with "for both rows" unless your machine has the throat space to accomodate the measurement given.
